Art for Anti-Slavery Day
Claire Walford
For Anti-Slavery Day 2025, Hidden Voices Bridgwater organised an art exhibition to raise awareness of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
Entitled “The Hidden Market”, the art prompted much discussion around consumer spending habits and how slavery can be hidden in many supply chains.

Dozens of local people attended the art show at St Mary’s Church, Bridgwater and also the Anti-Slavery Day church service on Sunday 19th October where Bishop Alastair Redfern, the chair of trustees for The Clewer Initiative, preached and Sian Owen of Hidden Voices Bridgwater was invited to give a short presentation about modern slavery in the UK.

This was such a brilliant way to provoke discussion, increase awareness and encourage people to question the part they play, through their purchasing decisions.
