Benefact Trust gives grant to The Clewer Initiative
The Clewer Initiative
We are delighted to share that The Clewer Initiative has been successful in applying for a grant from the Benefact Trust’s Community Impact Grants Programme.
The Community Impact Grants Programme supports projects that will make a positive and transformative impact on lives and communities. It aims to empower Christian organisations across the UK and Ireland who are doing incredible work tackling major issues in society. The programme is open to applications from churches, cathedrals, denominational bodies, Christian charities, and schools and educational institutions with a clear Christian ethos. It is particularly interested in providing funding that will help address social challenges facing communities such as modern slavery.
The trustees of The Clewer Initiative completed a substantial and rigorous application form in which they outlined our hopes for the next 3- 5 years.

Bishop Alastair Redfern, chair of The Clewer Initiative, comments: "We are extremely thankful for the generosity and support of Benefact Trust. We are excited to join a long line of Christian organisations that have benefitted from their patronage. Since 1972, Benefact Trust has awarded more than £256 million to churches and organisations, all committed to driving positive social change. We are in the process of writing a business plan, strategy and appointing an interim director so that we can begin stewarding this grant and continuing the good work we have begun in raising awareness and equipping communities to respond to modern slavery."
