Join us in London for our National Network Day!

25th September 2025 | From our team

Claire Walford

On October 21st around 100 partners and supporters of The Clewer Initiative will gather in London for our National Network Gathering.

The gathering will bring together people from across the Clewer’s diocesan network and the wider anti-slavery community and includes guest speakers, workshops, and time for reflection and connection.

Lois Bosatta, director of The Clewer Initiative, explains: “The theme of the day is ‘Love in Action’.  Our desire is that the day will be an inspiring and hope-filled gathering, rooted in the call of Romans 12 to live out love in action. Together, we will reflect on how the Church can continue to respond to modern slavery with joyful perseverance, faithful prayer, and practical compassion.”

Our guest speakers include:

  • The Mothers’ Union – an organisation which is committed to ending poverty, inequality and injustice through grassroots family support and community development programmes
  • Nancy Esiovwa - Lived-experience leader delivering advocacy in the UK for survivors of human trafficking. Co-founder of the Morgan Charitable Foundation, who uplift vulnerable populations through empowerment.
  • Julie Christie-Webb - Interim CEO of Strength and Stem, using floristry to help female modern slavery survivors experience restoration and empowerment through skills training, mentorship and community.
  • Hope at Home – an organisation committed to training and supporting ordinary hosts to welcome a survivor of modern slavery into their homes, preventing homelessness and re-trafficking.

We have a few spaces left so if you would like to join us, please email Maria on info@clewer.org.uk and we can reserve a place for you! (Please check your junk mail in case you already missed an invitation)

Full details: Tuesday 21st October, 10-4.30pm at Mary Sumner House in London.
